- You can use the Tenant Vetting Service or similar product.
- Always check employers references, a telephone call will often suffice, backed up by a written reference.
- Potentially character references can be useful.
- Bank references I find often don't say much and also they take so long come back that the tenant can often get fed up and gone elsewhere.
- Beware when taking a landlords reference ... They might give you a good reference just to get rid of the tenant quicker!
- ALWAYS get a guarantor, preferably a home owner.
